We found that organisational cultures and structures frequently fail to support a focus on addressing inequity, including ethnic inequalities, within healthcare commissioning. There is a need for stronger leadership and more effective framing of the issues to encourage action in this area.
EEiC tools and resources to support this area of work:
- Identifying and understanding stakeholders – individual and workshop exercise
- ‘In their shoes’ scenario – individual and workshop exercise
- ‘Making the case’, preparing an impactful presentation – a how to guide
- PowerPoint template for ‘making the case’ (longer presentation)
- Responding to frequently raised objections – questions and answers
- EEiC mini case study: Packaging information for decision-makers in stroke services
